This ARTSEDGE lesson explores the historic importance and function of castles in King Arthur's time, and introduces students to a general history of castles and architectural terms. Students gain familiarity with geometric shapes, symmetry, patterns, and dimensions. Students illustrate a rough sketch or blueprint of a castle, then create a three-dimensional castle using found and recycled materials and art supplies.
