Description

This ReadWriteThink lesson introduces students to censorship and how challenges to books occur. Students are then invited to read a challenged or banned book and decide for themselves what should be done with this book at their school by writing a persuasive essay explaining their perspectives. This resource includes links to teacher and student materials as well as related Web sites. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested.
