In this lesson, one of a multi-part unit from Illuminations, students create graphs based on the characteristics of sets of names and find measures of center and spread. They construct a bar graph and a pictograph that displays the length of the names of the states, and then they construct a graph from the data and find the mean, median, and mode of the related data.
