    Great Use of Recyclables // sarah ranns

    I like that this lesson utilizes the aluminum cans that so frequently go into the recycling can, but then where do they go? Though this is a very nice math lesson for data analysis, graphing and mean calculation; this is also a great way to impress environmental stewardship and the science of recycling.

Description

In this lesson, one of a multi-part unit from Illuminations, students investigate data in connection with recyclable materials and develop plans to help the environment. Students gather and graph information about their use of aluminum cans and then interpret the data, including figuring and displaying the mean. They then develop a plan for future actions.
