Description
This lesson, from Illuminations, explores magic squares from both a historical and mathematical perspective. Students explore symbolic algebraic representation of patterns, complete a magic squares activity sheet, use operations and integers to solve problems, and analyze and represent patterns with symbolic rules. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested.
