Description

In this lesson, from ReadWriteThink, students select a character from a work of historical fiction and then help the character choose and apply for a job. Students explore what it would have been like to search for a job in the past and the qualifications that would have been needed. After investigating print and online help wanted ads, students draft a resume so their characters can apply for jobs. This lesson incorporates a "Writing Resumes for Fictional Characters" interactive activity. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested. Less
