In this lesson, from ReadWriteThink, students develop a definition of multigenre texts by exploring a multigenre picture book, short chapter books, and multigenre novels. Students brainstorm alone and together what they need as readers to read and understand multigenre texts successfully. The students then share findings and discuss strategies needed to comprehend and write multigenre texts. This lesson incorporates an Interactive Multigenre Text Analysis Chart as well as a Venn Diagram Interactive. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested. Less
