Description

This lesson, from ReadWriteThink, uses the technique of spelling cheerleading to teach the spelling generalization for adding suffixes to words that end with the letter "y." Spelling cheerleading integrates visual, auditory, and kinesthetic modalities to meet the needs of all learners, as students "cheer" new words based upon the formation of each letter. Students also have the opportunity to apply their understanding of the "y" generalization in small groups through word sorts and the creation of a group book. Less
