Description
Based on the Guided Comprehension Model developed by Maureen McLaughlin and Mary Beth Allen, this lesson--one of a series from ReadWriteThink--introduces students to the comprehension strategy of previewing. Students use an anticipation guide to preview and make predictions about the story "Teammates" by Peter Golenbock. Students also work in teacher- and student-directed small groups to extend their use of the previewing strategy. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested. Less
