Project planning and managing workloads can be overwhelming for students. Providing them due dates will not cure procrastination, but "The Backwards Planning" approach to time management does promote the internalizing of time for students and virtually eliminates procrastination. It creates a sense of urgency to get started on assignments right away instead of waiting to the last minute. Group work can also be overwhelming. Using this approach to planning with group members will prevent many of the challenges commonly encountered in group work.
