Description

CA Elementary Math and Science PL Initiative: The Franklin-McKinley Mathematics Initiative (FMMI) is a two-year project designed to address decreasing mathematics scores of grade 3-6 students attending elementary schools in Franklin-McKinley School District through: (a) the development of effective mathematics lessons, (b) leadership development through collaborative instructional teamwork, and (c) support of principal instructional leadership. This report summarizes results of the Post-Program Evaluation administered to participants at the final professional development workshop on December 5, 2017. It concludes with a summary of findings from a comparative analysis of student performance on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) whereby the proficiency level distributions in Mathematics of students of FMMI-participating educators were compared to those of non-FMMI participants.
