Description
Courtroom to the Classroom (C2C) is an innovative program co-sponsored by Constitutional Rights Foundation and the Los Angeles County Superior Court that brings teams of one judge and two attorneys to middle school and high school classrooms twice a year. The judge/attorney teams use PowerPoint-driven lessons with students that deal with the history of the Constitution and engage them in an application activity of the content through a moot court, using a real Supreme Court case. The judge and attorneys interact with the students to present content, help them prepare for the moot court activity, and answer questions. Program Goals:
To educate students about our legal system and the role of the courts in our democracy
To provide opportunities for students to interact with professionals from the legal field to inspire the students to do their best in school.
To provide teachers with lessons that address their state-mandated history-social science standards, as well as motivate and engage students.
