Description
America's schools have experienced a sharp increase in the number of students who are not proficient enough in English to fully access academic content in all of their classes. This report discusses teacher education and professional development for mainstream teachers of English language learners (ELLs). The authors conducted a review of a variety of large and small-scale studies to summarize current research on the education that teachers have received in working with ELLs.
