Description

The Enhancing Quality with Teachers of Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) project is designed to meet the CPEC request for professional development programs that help teachers understand and strengthen their content knowledge in preparation for and implementation of the Speaking and Listening standards of the California Common Core Standards in English Language Arts (CaCCS-ELA). It addresses this need through a technology infused professional development model that emphasizes action learning through 10 content-focused workshops.

The project will be implemented in partnership with California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Deaf Education and English faculty, a high need Local Education Agency-the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Deaf/Hard of Hearing Unit, and the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) Division of Special Education (DHH teachers and administrators), as well as LACOE Curriculum and Instructional Services.
