Description
This resource, from the Illuminations-reviewed History of Mathematics Archive, features biographical information about Dutch mathematician Machgielis Euwe. Euwe, who was the world chess champion from 1935 to 1937, used the results of his mathematics work to show that, under the rules of chess that then were in force, an infinite game of chess was possible.
