Description
These activities from ThinkQuest, reviewed for grades 3-5 by Illuminations, are designed to introduce students to fractions. Students are dealt cards from a regular deck and are asked to construct the largest fraction possible. To determine a winner, students must develop strategies for comparing fractions with different denominators. Various rule changes can be introduced such as not allowing improper fractions. Other fraction games are included along with a link to a quiz section. Read the full review on the Illuminations site, where you can access this resource directly. Less
