The University of Virginia's American Studies department presents this timeline from its study of the culture of 1930s America. The timeline provides a multimedia list of the decade's events, some well-known and others more obscure. Each year in the timeline is divided by months and also by four color-coded categories: Politics and Society, Science and Technology, Arts and Culture, and World Events. Many of the items listed for each year are linked to further information in the form of images, audio, and video. A video "Year in Review" of film clips can be found at the top of some of the years.
