Description

In this lesson, from the New York Times Learning Network, students evaluate important events, discoveries, and people from 1998. They work in groups to create "Year in Review" collages of newspaper and magazine headlines and photographs representing the categories of national news, international news, science, sports, entertainment, births, and deaths. Each student then writes a short summary of a significant news event from 1998 and evaluates why this event was monumental, both for 1998 and for the future.
