Description
This resource from Cut The Knot!, reviewed for grades 3-5 by Illuminations, is an interactive applet that allows students to explore "bamboozlement," the rearrangement of pieces of a figure that result in a figure of a supposedly different area. Students drag the pieces from a square on the left to a rectangle on the right, then compute and compare areas of the square and the rectangle.
