Description
This resource from Chas Spencer, reviewed for grades 6-8 by Illuminations, is a WebQuest for middle school students. Students are given the task of providing pizza for a family reunion. They are responsible for finding three pizza recipes and supplying enough to feed each person, but with one catch: one-third has to be one type, one-half has to be another type, and the rest has to be a third type. Students then determine the ingredients required and use a spreadsheet program to calculate the amount of each ingredient needed. The activity culminates with a discussion of the task and peer evaluation. Read the full review on the Illuminations site, where you can access this resource directly. Less
