This is lesson #1 of a three (3)
lesson unit on framing a model wooden residential house wall.
It’s also part of a much larger series of lessons to build a
small, 3 room, model wood framed house. The scale of the model is
1 in. = 1 ft. and the dimension are 14 ½ inches wide
by 22 inches long by 10 ½ inches high. The first 3 lesson
unit can be a stand alone unit of instruction which can take
approximately 4 weeks. But your construction instruction can
be extended to 1 semester if you want to have your students build
the model house. I recommend that 2 students work on the model
house together, but each student work individually building the
first wall.

  1. The instructor will discuss the
structure and purpose of the wood framing for a residential

  2. The instructor will discuss
the component parts of the wood framing for a residential
