Introduction to Micro-organisms and Foodborne Illness

Description

This lesson will introduce students to 4 types of pathogens that
can contaminate food and cause foodborne illness.  Students
will work in groups to research one of six specific
microorganisms.  They will then work "jigsaw" style to teach
the rest of the class all about their pathogen, the foods and
environment associated with it, symptoms of contamination/illness,
and how to prevent.
