In this lesson, the students measure themselves in inches
and then covert that measurement to a high resolution (300ppi)
digital image. They have to figure out how many 8x10” by 300
ppi photos it will take to build themselves in perfect 100% scale
in high resolution. The assignment theme is promotion. They come up
with a pose of themselves and a positive slogan. They then shoot,
edit and build the lifesize document in Photoshop and print in
Adobe Indesign, which has tiling. Then they paste themselves onto
cardboard and figure out how to make poster standup. We put these
lifesize posters around school to promote the photo class.
