Creating The Employee Handbook

Description

Students, in teams, with a pre-existing virtual company, create
an Employee Manual based on the link found at business.gov
(http://dol.sd.gov/pubs/template.doc).  


Students receive a rubric, along with a list of 10 scenarios
developed for the Bakersfield Trade Fair (see following links).
 Students incorporate those scenarios into their Employee
Handbook and develop new categories if necessary.


The culminating project is a Human Resources/Employee Manual
Scenario Competition based on the one found in Virtual Enterprise
trade fairs.  Judges, selected from the school and community,
ask each team of 2-4 students a question from the list of 10
scenarios.  Using a Judge's scorecard, they determine a
winner.  This lesson can be taught whether the teacher has
taught Virtual Enterprise or not.
