In this activity, learners gain experience with local maps and timetables for public transportation, a challenge for many of all ages! Learners use actual local maps and transportation timetables to choose a destination, plan how they can get there, and figure out how long it will take to get there. They compare routes and find the fastest and the one with the longest wait at the bus terminal. If at all possible, take learners on some of the trips they plan, so that they can try out their trip-planning skills. Available as a web page and downloadable pdf. Students should have some experience reading maps and transportation schedules. Less
