Description
Cassette Tape, reviewed for grades 6-8 by Illuminations, is a fun little activity that could be used as a warm-up to almost any type of lesson. The purpose of the activity is to arrange songs, with given time lengths, on both sides of a tape in the most efficient manner. The object is to have the total lengths of play time on the two sides as even as possible. The concept of numbers and how they relate to one another is the main focus of this activity. However, problem-solving skills are used to arrange the songs in the most proficient manner. There is also a bonus activity after this activity. It deals with diophantine equations. There are some minor typos. Less
