Description

This resource, from American Memory at the Library of Congress, is a digital collection of Abraham Lincoln's papers. Included are three series that contain correspondence, drafts of speeches, notes, and printed material. Most of the 20,000 items are from the 1850s and Lincoln's presidential years, 1861-65. Among these items is an image of Lincoln's first draft of the Emancipation Proclamation.
