This page links to three collections of household objects used in Illinois homes during the Arts and Industry movement. Metal, glass, and ceramic items are featured, with an emphasis on the rise of department stores and consumer goods. The collections featured are part of the At Home in the Heartland Online project from the Illinois State Museum. At Home in the Heartland Online contains in-depth materials on family life in Illinois from 1700 to the present and has been designed as a classroom resource for teachers and students.
