Description

The Academy of American Poets was founded in 1934 to support American poets at all stages of their careers and to foster the appreciation of contemporary poetry. The largest organization in the country dedicated specifically to the art of poetry, its Web site provides links to a number of its sponsor programs - the Poetry Book Club, National Poetry Month, and the Online Poetry Classroom - as well as regular poetry news updates, search facilities, and opportunities to hear poetry. This resource is referenced in the EDSITEment lesson entitled "Hawthorne: Author and Narrator." Less
