Description

This resource is provided from Cynthia Lanius' Homepage through Rice University. Rent-a-Car is an activity designed to use a real-world situation to illustrate linear functions. Further, it connects algebra with real-world experiences. Students are allowed to work individually or in groups (preferred). The students must read a problem situation, make tables and graphs, analyze the graphs, write functions and paragraphs. Students are exposed to graphs, tables, functions, and systems of linear equations. In addition, students must help the Green family decide which rent-a-car plan is best for their family vacation.
