Description

Posters are a means of communication; each has a message or purpose. But there is more to it! Posters that demand attention reflect conceptual and design choices by the artist as well as artistic achievement. This site explores the process of making the messages of commerce, propaganda, and patriotism evident through a visual medium. This site is part of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, which is dedicated to the preservation, exhibition, and study of visual arts in America.
