Description

PUMAS (poo' ú mas), reviewed for grades 3-5 by Illuminations, is a site dedicated to providing challenging problems and lessons that are real-life issues. Providing examples written primarily by scientists and engineers, lessons focus mostly on answering difficult questions that are interesting and offer practical uses of math and science. While there is only a small sample of examples specifically designed for grades 3-5, some of the more advanced examples may provide an idea which can be adapted to younger grades. Less
