Description
This resource is provided from Cynthia Lanius' Homepage through Rice University. This lesson presents a graph of the water level of a hot tub over time. Students are then asked to "tell the story" behind the graph, giving as many details as they can justify from the graph. Follow-up questions ask students to look at the slope of various segments of the graph and relate it to the rate of change. Additional follow-up questions of varying degree can be added for more advanced students. As an extention, students are asked if the graph could represent a person's bank account. Less
