Description

Tangrams are a puzzles that help develop spatial-visualization skills, but they may also be used to introduce or reinforce geometrical concepts such as congruency, similarity and symmetry. This unit uses tangrams to compute the area of polygons without formulas. In the process, students familiarize themselves with the concepts of congruent and similar. This unit is part of the Math Forum web site.
