To hardly anyone's disappointment, the great earthquake predicted ten years ago this month for the little Mississippi River town of New Madrid, Missouri, failed to materialize. But experts say the pressures underground are still building; and when they do break loose, the damage to major population centers like Memphis and St. Louis will be staggering.
