How I used this in my class . . . // Victoria Williams
I used this with my 7th grade honors class to introduce them to the shape of a quadratic graph and let them play for about 15-20 minutes (using the laptop lab) with shrinking and stretching the graph as well as moving the vertex and focus. I also drew their attention to the interactive t-chart that plots points for the parabola. We then had a whole-class discussion about what happens when different things are added to the graph (eg. a coefficient in front of x-squared, a constant like +1, etc). The interactive helped them to see how the shape of the graph is affected by different components of the equation. - Aug 10 2010 4:30 PM

Description
This has an interactive parabola that students can manipulate and see how it affects an equation. It also shows how they can graph an equation by putting in simple values for X and solving for Y. It's a nice introduction to graphing quadratic equations
