Description

In this ReadWriteThink lesson, students improve vocabulary and comprehension by reading and discussing novels and then conducting research about the author, the storyline and connections to poetry and drama. They then develop and present a performance poem focusing on a specific scene or event, which they reenact. Although it is designed for second-language learners, this lesson is appropriate for mixed classrooms. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested.
