Description

In this ReadWriteThink lesson, students practice critical thinking skills as they identify character traits displayed by the strong female protagonist in Tomie de Paola's book, "The Legend of the Bluebonnet." Students then read additional titles and work in small groups to distinguish character traits that contribute to their understanding of the main characters. Using the online Character Trading Cards tool, each student creates a trading card to share with classmates. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested. Less
