In this ReadWriteThink lesson, students explore similarities and differences among various versions of "Little Red Riding Hood." They are then introduced to fiction and nonfiction texts featuring wolves in order to provide them with a different perspective of the "villain" in the "Little Red Riding Hood" tales. The multi-session unit culminates in a class-written version of the folktale. Several pieces of literature appropriate for use with this lesson are suggested.
