Description
This winning entry in the Museum's Young Naturalist Awards 2005 by Shannon, a 16 year old student from Utah, examines a river's drop in water quality. Her essay reports on her three year study comparing the water quality of the rivers flowing into and out of Utah Lake. Based on her analysis of data from seven test sites, she found that human activity was a major factor in the decline of the river's water quality.
