Description
This winning entry in the Museum's Young Naturalist Awards 2004 by Alexandra, a 16 year old student from Virginia, investigates a subspecies of marine iguana. Her narrative essay (with photographs, maps, illustrations, and references) discusses the factors that caused this subspecies to become so different from the marine iguanas on the other islands in the archipelago and what she learned about the role of climate, food, geography, predators, and isolation in the evolution of this subspecies.
