Description
This winning entry in the Museum's Young Naturalist Awards 2004 by Anna, a 14 year old student from Pennsylvania, investigates a lifeless creek. Her narrative essay discusses the creek near her home, where all signs of a healthy aquatic environment were and are nonexistent, the importance of dissolved oxygen in water and the problems that result when it is too high or too low. She reports on her testing process for the three sites where she collected water samples and her discoveries.
