Description
This winning entry in the Museum's Young Naturalist Awards 2004 by Elsie, a 13 year old student from Colorado, investigates the growth patterns of aspens. Her narrative essay discusses how her research project was a continuation of a class project that sought to answer the question: Is an aspen's diameter affected by its distance from the grove's center? She extended the class project a year later with the goal of finding more data points concerning the spread of aspen trees.
