Description
Scientists can't measure the composition of the universe as a whole. But they can tackle the puzzle piece by piece, by studying the composition of the different objects the universe contains, such as stars, gas clouds, and comets. In this activity, a supplement to the Hall of Meteorites Educator's Guide, students use a graph and the periodic table to learn about the abundance of elements in the Sun. The activity begins with a discussion of the periodic table and a graph that shows the current composition of the Sun.
