Description
In this ReadWriteThink lesson, students engage in morphemic analysis by using their knowledge of morphemes to define words, using a dictionary to confirm the meaning and spelling of unfamiliar words, and combining morphemes to create new words. Teachers are encouraged to read the novel "Frindle" aloud as an extension activity to spark interest in word origins. This lesson includes sample morphemes, but teachers can easily substitute their own.
