This rubric from ARTSEDGE helps teachers measure students' understanding about what a "Mary Garden" is and its significance in medieval garden history. It also measures the students' ability to identify flowers and their symbolism, interpret the meanings of flowers in Renaissance art, examine botanical illustrations, name botanical properties of flowers, and create a personal representation of their favorite symbolic flowers in a grouping.
