Description
This simulation depicts deposition dynamics at Lake Vostok, an ancient, pristine liquid lake discovered in Antarctica in 1996 buried under two miles of ice. The animation illustrates the processes of the ice sheet's formation and provides information on research with world's deepest ice cores and efforts to explore the life in the lake without disturbing its pre-historic ecosystem.
