Description
This is a practice-based professional development program integrated with digital-imagery authoring technology and curricula models. The program involves teachers in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Study (PBS) projects in field excursions, case studies, and/or laboratory activities intended to actively engage students in science. It uses the Digital Imagery as an Instructional Mode for Student Achievement (DIIMSA®) model to actively involve learners in STEM subjects. The DIIMSA® Model allows teachers to implement conceptual teaching combined with collaborative learning using instructional technology. Site materials include an overview of the program, a discussion of its rationale, and a description of the program elements, including the DIIMSA® Model.
