Description

Visitors measure a bottle full of air, then use a vacuum pump to remove the air. When they re-weigh the bottle, visitors find the mass is about 0.8g less. Through this activity, visitors understand that air has mass and volume, the two properties which define matter. Even though this activity is no longer in active use in OMSI's Chemistry Lab, it remains an interesting and inspiring activity for the classroom.
