Description
In this hands-on art and science activity (page 4 of the pdf), learners brainstorm and discuss how humans use wetlands, then express their understanding of the subject in artwork. Depending on the materials on hand, learners could use paint, paper, paper maché, markers, or colored pencils; they could even compose a song! Extend the activity by organizing an art gallery to features their work. Older students could focus on slogans and advertising techniques, or design a bumper sticker or t-shirt. The 8-page pdf also contains background information on wetlands in general and San Francisco Bay wetlands in particular. Less
